Thevenin Theorem
Thevenin theorem is one of the circuit simplification technique which is use to simplify
Complex circuit to simple circuit.
Here are the few basic steps to Find Thevenin's Equivalent circuit.
For Explanation consider the below example
Q. Find The Current Passing Through The R2 Resistor in Below Circuit.
Answer:-
Step :1
Remove the R2 load and Find Voltage Between that point , call that voltage Vth.
Find Vth using any of the below Method
1 } KCL
2 } KVL
3 } Mesh Anylasys
4 } Node Anylasys
5 } Voltage Division Rule
Hear I Use Voltage Division Rule to Find Vth
Vth=(VxR3)/(R1+R3)
Step 2: Short circuit all the independent Voltage Source And Find the Rth .
Find the Rth Using any of below method
1 } series & parallel connection solution .
2 } Star - Delta or Delta- Star Conversion
3 } Redundant branch removel
Step 3: Put Rth and R2 and Vth as in below circuit which is called Thevenin's equivalent circuit .
and Find Current passing through R2.
